Changing an Existing Email Account in Outlook ExpressHere are the steps you need to follow to change an email account in Outlook Express. 1. Start Outlook Express. Click on Tools in the menu bar and then go to Accounts 2. This brings up the Internet Accounts pop-up window. Click on the Mail tab, to bring it to the front if it is not already so. Select the mail account you want to change and click on Properties.
3. In the “General” section, check to make sure that your email address is correct. Your email address must include @domain name. For example:
Make sure that the box next to “Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing” is checked (see below). 4. Click on the “Servers” tab and make sure all the following information is entered: * My incoming mail server is a = POP3 Make sure that your entire email address is entered and that the password is correct. You may want to re-enter your password just to be sure. If you would like your computer to automatically remember your password each time you log in, check the box next to “Remember password”. If you do not check this box, you will need to enter your password every time you check email using Outlook Express. The box next to “My server requires authentication” should also have a check. 5. Click “OK” to finish and return to the Internet Accounts window. You can test your settings by closing the Internet Accounts window and clicking the Send/Recv button. |
